WAY TO GO BRAD PITT

When Paul Neuman died I thought to myself -

Who's gonna step up and take his place?

Eventually I saw that it was going to be Brad Pitt.

'We're not getting married until everyone can get married.'

And now he has announced he is quitting acting when he's fifty.

I say - more power to you, brad.

I don't know him personally but I don't think he would
mind if I call him Brad.
~~~
He gave us:
Legends of the Fall - Tristan
Burn After Reading - One of my faves
Benjamin Button - Loved it
and what Woman could forget him in Thelma and Louise?
talk about hit & run  :-)
God Bless You  -  Brad Pitt
i'd proudly stand up next to you...
Not quite in the same league with a "Cool Hand Luke"...IMO. I did like him in 12 Monkeys, though. He almost had Newman's sparkle-in-the-eye in that one... but couldn't quite close the deal. There's something about him that I just can't take seriously.
Abso - I never saw 12 monkeys.
and I wasn't comparing Brad Pitt's acting to Paul Newman - but rather the good things that he has done in his personal life.
I loved Cool Hand Luke.
Paul Newman was so great - in all respects.
I take it that you admire celebrity philanthropy. That makes one of us.
Thersites - And pray tell - what kind of philanthropy do you admire?
I forgive Brad Pitt for Troy.
Joe - That comment about Brad Pitt and Troy is great - and instead of ending my day with a smile - no a laugh - you started it.
But I am so inherently stupid that I loved Troy - and Brad Pitt in it - until my really intelligent son-in-law informed me that it was historically incorrect.
So I gave the video away - but now sometimes I long to see the great ending.
and i fogive brad pitt for seven years in tibet
The kind that when people die, they stop f'ing with other living people's lives. Newman's own should only exist six feet underground.
But - my dear Ther - although Paul Newman is dead - A.E. Hotchner was his partner and may still be alive in which case your argument is not legitimate.
sue hanes said...
And anyway - why do you say that the sale of Newman's Own products is 'f*cking with' anyone's life.
Do you not choose or not choose to buy the product?
Then let them change the name on their product's labels to "Hotchner's Own".
Struldbrugduggery needs to be discouraged. It only leads to mischief, like Bretton Woods, no matter "how good the cause" may seem.
I like the part of being Immortal but not the aging thing.
Bretton Woods:
I see the word 'monetary' and I back off.
Monetary to me means buying stuff I like at Hobby Lobby - and sometimes Pier One Imports.
Thersites said...
Bretton Woods determines the price you pay for what you buy at Pier One.
The thing is - Ther - I can only grasp a little at a time about
anything concerning finances - debt ceiling - stuff like that.
So please if you want me to respond about financial affairs -
try to explain it to me as if I were a Liberal - and a fourth grader.
Brad Pitt is an actor I mention often. He is one of the most versatile actors on the market currently.
You almost cannot name a genre he has not played a star role in. It is really quite amazing the variety of movies he has done.
He is not my favorite actor, but is one of the ones I respect the most (as an actor, that is).
sue hanes said...
John Myste - I like your comment about Brad Pitt - because I've never thought about him being a versitle actor.
But you are right about that. I really came to see that in Burn After Reading - a great movie.
Now when I think of Brad Pitt it is not so much about his acting but about the respect I have for him as a person.
But as one who loves movies -I am glad that he has made such an important contribution to that field.
