a blast from the past

If this doesn't get you in the mood for Thanksgiving - nothing will.

over the river and through the wood
to grandfather's house we go
~the horse knows the way
~to carry the sleigh
through the white and drifted snow

over the river and through the wood
oh how the wind does blow!
~it stings the toes
~and bites the nose
as over the ground we go

over the river and through the wood
to have a first-rate play
~hear the bells ring
~-'ting-a-ling-ding!'

Hurrah for Thanksgiving Day!

Over the River and Through The Wood
Trot Fast my Dapple-Gray!
~Spring Over The Ground
~Like a Hunting Hound!

For This is Thanksgiving Day.

OVER THE RIVER AND THROUGH THE WOOD
AND STRAIGHT FOR THE BARNYARD GATE
~WE SEEM TO GO
~EXTREMELY SLOW, -
IT IS SO HARD TO WAIT!

OVER  THE  RIVER  AND  THROUGH  THE   WOOD -

NOW  GRANDMOTHER'S  CAP  I  SPY!

~HURRAH  FOR  THE  FUN!

~IS  THE  PUDDING   DONE?

H U R R A H   F O R  T H E  P U M P K I N   P I E  ! ! !

Hey Abso - This is the first Thanksgiving that I won't be able to eat turkey. You know - being a vegetarian and all. So I'll be having scallops.

Speaking of sleighs and snow - when they come for Christmas there is actually enough of a hill in our backyard for the kids to sled.
~~~
What are you doing for Thanksgiving Abso?
The Absolute Marxist said...
Chewing, mostly... but occassionaly snoring myself awake out from under a tryptophan induced haze.
come on - Abso - the truth of it is you will gorge on turkey and the fixings then take a nap watching football or Monthy Python and the Holy Grail or whatever else you people watch - and then take a nap and snore while all the time i am working.
It's only 9:05am and already I am in my insane mode.
Please help me out here. :)
AM - That's not true.
It is when I am ignored that it drives me crazy. Comments are what keep me sane.
Thanks for hanging around. :)
