Early on in the past 25 years I participated in the Christmas Caroling
at the Church.
A few years it would snow and this year that I'm thinking of it did in
a big way.
But the time we made the rounds the roads were precariously covered
with the white stuff - and I was at at the wheel.
One of the stops we made was at a high rise apartment building where we
were to serenade some old folks - always the focus when Christmas Caroling -
and better than the dreaded nursing homes.
I really couldn't tell where the road to give me access to the apartment building
was and I ended up going in the wrong direction.
Along came a truck - not a huge semi but nevertheless a truck - and the driver
was mean and rude to me. I really can't remember whether we just flipped
each other off - although I think the exchange did include harsh words.
But that's not what this post is all about.
Because the reaction from the back seat where four of the fellow Christmas
Carolers were - was not one of shock or disapproval - but that of laughter
and fun.
and from that i came to see that church people can just be people too.
'tis the season to be jolly - : O)

I beg to differ. Bill Maher told Rachel Maddow that he “ Hate’s the The GOP as much as she does” on one of her programs that was devoted completely to Republican bashing. And I as a Republican resent that man 100 percent.
And to be totally honest with you, ever since his 9-11 9/11 conspiracy theories remark, and calling American’s cowards, I have had nothing but hatred in my heart fro this “person” But then again, that is standard talk for these left-wing socialists I meant to say Communism (but of course, they are both "left" and there is not much of a difference).
Believe in God or not, it's up to you. But I for one would condemn this traitor to Hell. You may think he’s funny, but I think that he’s a anti-American lunatic
Mr. Brian S. - Thank for commenting on my blog. Everyone
who does so is of interest to me - unless that person is just out to blow me off - you know what I mean.
I don't know what you are basing your remarks on concerning Bill Maher but anyone who comments here about him needs to know what I base my feelings about him on.
If anyone is truly interested in how I feel about Bill Maher they need to look through my blog archives and read what I say about him.
Of course you are entitled to your opinion of Bil Maher. He certainly is the type of person that people hate or love - and he has a rather large following of people who support him.
I am not here to persuade you to like Bill Maher - but my mind is made up about him.
I spent over three years watching him, listening to his show, reading his books, interviews and I own two of his standup comedy videos and the movie Religulous - but have never met him - nor have I seen his standup comedy in person.
I am interested in forming a group of commenters from any walk of life as long as the person is sincere in their beliefs and doesn't try to step on mine.
You can say anything about Bill Maher on my blog that you want.
But you need to know where I stand concerning him.
Brian - I hope this isn't just a one time visit in which you rant about Bil Maher - but lately I'm getting a lot of that.
Christmas carolers? What's the opposite of a joyful exhuberance?
Speedy - I give up - speedy - perhaps you will enlighten me.
Angry & enraged bloggers?
You know what Speedy?
I welcome what you call 'angry and enraged' bloggers to my blog.
I'll tell you why.
Because if someone comes and makes an angry and enraged comment on my blog - I'm gonna try to find out why they are angry and enraged.
I'd assume it was something you said...
Speedy - You may assume it was something I said but I try not to assume ANYTHING.
Someone else may assume that I think something but unless they ask me and then I tell them what I am thinking - they are Assuming.
I am a firm believer that misunderstanding is one of the primary problems in our world today.
The longer I live the more I look back on my life and realize that
so much misunderstanding has been involved.
This can be shocking. It can change the whole course of one's life - just from one person wrongly asuming something about another person - especially when feelings are involved.
That is why on some of my posts I have tried to say EXACTLY how I feel about something or someone in no uncertain terms.
That is not always easy - but in the long run it is always best.
Now I would always want someone to do the same for me. Always.
And it can hurt to hear the truth -but knowing the truth is always best.
and once you know the truth then you can move on.
Then there is Denial - Speedy.
That involves hearing the Truth but not allowing yourself - or not being able - to accept the Truth.
That type of accepting or denying the Truth involves two people.
Self-Denial - in my opinion - just involves oneself - unless it is hurting others.
Sometimes if people love you and they see that you are hurting yourself they will get together with you and have what is called a Confrontation.
A Confrontation can help someone in self-denial.
But that person may already know that they are hurting themself and if they are not truly hurting others then that person should deal with the Truth themself.
You and I have completely different understandings vis a vis the "nature" of truth.
Speedy - Maybe you'd like to tell about Truth as you see it.
I've got all the Time in the world.
I can paraphrase it in two Nietzsche quotes, "truth is the kind of error without which a certain species could not survive," and "the criteria for truth is an enhancement in the feeling of power."
Speedy - Come on.
Why is it you continually make comments that are way over my head - that I could figure out if I weren't so tired.
Maybe tommorow.
Yeah - the Truth will be more understandable in the morning...
:)
Sounds like you've already figured it out to me...
Oh yeah Ther - I've got it all figured out.
I'm prepared for any contingency.
I've covered all the unknowns.
except for the unknown unknowns.
:)
