abortion and senior citizens

A discussion with a family member several days ago yeilded
some thoughts on my part that had never come to my mind
before - but as these thoughts unfolded I - and the person I
was speaking with - both agreed that the subject was worth
discussion.

Here is how it went:

Of course there has been for quite some time now differing
opinions on the subject of Abortion.

This subject almost always focuses on the Right To Life -
for the unborn Fetus.

But what about the Right To Life of those who already have
been living - and sometimes are cast aside - and I'm talking
about old people.

I'm not one for euphemisms - and when a person is in their
90's - they are getting old.

What to do with Old People?

Do we put them in Nursing Homes until they die - visiting
them only occasionally to painfully remind them of the Life that
once existed for Them?

Aren't there cultures that actually have seen that Old People
can be useful when left in the home and are allowed to be part
of the family life - even interacting with the children - should
there be any - and drawing upon their wisdom and experience.

Old People have the Right to Life - surely as much as a Fetus
who has never been Born.
