a smart movie

Sometimes I turn to my movie collection - all 175 dvds well ok
make that 178 : ]  - to get me through.

And tonight I looked through them for a smart movie.

And then I saw it.


Inception.


Even the second time I saw it I thought That's the best movie
I've ever seen.  Now I didn't mean that Inception is my favorite
movie  - just the best one.  And looking back I believe that the
reason I liked Inception so well is its Abstract Appeal.  It
appeals to my new way of painting  - in Abstract.  Because in
Abstract - you are not limited to what you see is what you get.
You can look beyond Abstract - and wonder what it means to
you and more importantly - for me - what it meant to the Artist.
Now unless you actually talk to the Artist - or even read about
the Artist's own thoughts on the Painting - you can really only
let your mind wander - and think about it.

With Inception - of course - it is more than that - it is about:

Christopher Nolan - the director whose movie The Dark Knight was so
great.

but I believe that the real reason I fell in Love with Inception
was the Special Effects like when:

~the stuff flew all around them when they were having lunch

~the building rising out of the ground in an unrealistic way : ]

~the mean people in his subconscious

~the spectacular snow scene

~the van falling into the river in slo-mo

~when the mirror broke on the bridge

~they walked on the walls

~he wrapped them up together

~the little top in the end and does it stop and will it fall over?


and most of all I never 'got it'

even my daughters 'got it' right away

but I still don't 'get it' and no one try to tell me because I don't
know and I don't wanna know

but i just don't get it






Today I bought Usual Suspects - again - and I'm gonna
watch it for the third time.

Will I get it?

Probably not.

But I really like it.
