On Burning The Flag
From time to time People get mad and Burn The American Flag.
I've been Thinking - a dangerous occupaion I know - about this Tonight
and here is what I came up with:
~When I say The Flag I'm talking about The American Flag.
~Now if Folks in other countries want to get mad and burn Our Flag
then I say let them do it - and what are we gonna do about it anyway.
~But what about when Americans Burn The American Flag right here
in Our Country?
This is what I think:
Let them do it.
There Should Be No Penalty For Burning The American Flag.
Why not - you might ask.
Well - to explain my reasoning on this I have to call upon my own experiences -
about Stomping on Bibles, Kicking Them Across The Room - AND EVEN THROWING
THEM AGAINST THE WALL. And furthermore - I even sometimes tear out pages of
the Bible and throw them on the Floor.
And what happens to me when I do this?
Absolutely nothing.
But why - stidh - doesn't God get mad and punish you for treating the Word of God
in such a disrepectful manner - you surely are asking yourself right now.
Well - I'll tell ya folks - cause I believe I've got it all figured out (and btw I am pretty
sure I wrote about this on my Religion Blog previously.)
This Is My Reasoning:
God doesn't punish me for mistreating the Bible because it's not the Book itself that
is Holy. But rather it is the Words In The Book that are Sacred.
And I Really think that furthermore God is not going to punish a Stupid Childish Act Of
Anger and Frustration Of One His 'Children' Who Is Just Throwing A Temper Tantrum.
And well Folks - to me that is what those People are doing when they Burn The American Flag.
They just want someone to pay attention to them - even listen to what they say.
So Why Don't We Just Do That.
The next time someone Burns The American Flag right here in this Country - let's say
Hey - what's up with that? Come on in here and let's talk about it.
And anyway - how sacred can a flag be that you can go right down to W-mart and
pick up another one for under $20.
What's more important here -
The Symbol Of Our Great Country -
or
What The People Who Live In Our Great Country Have To Say?
I know what I think - What Do You Think?

I think that there should be no penal for someone who beats the cr*p out of a flag burner. I mean, they're merely expressing their opinion in a non-verbal manner, much like the flag burners.
I never said that another Citizen couldn't beat the crap out of a flag burner - Abso.
I said that there should be no law against it - no governmental reprocussions.
See - if anyone wants to Burn An American Flag Right Here In This Country - they take their chances -
of being beaten almost to death - but before they die they get their body dragged along a country road behind a 4 x 4.
That oughta make other future Flag burners think before they do it.
isn't that what ya call vigalante stuff?
Now in the old days they would slice a person open - rip out their guts - then make them look at it before they die.
But that's a bit harsh - don't ya think - Abso.
I say we go with the body-dragged-behind-the-pickup.
More civilized.
