on my roses

They're here.

At least two of my Legion of rosebuds are going to be blooming
in the next few days.

Am I excited about this?

You bet I am.

You see I have never had roses - anywhere - where I have lived.
When I moved here last year - around the 1st of November - there
were still red roses on the three rose bushes.

Now the roses are back. And I will be able to see them 'come out' -
in all of their glory.

To help me celebrate - I am not going to share a few rose quotes
with all of you - my nonreaders & especially my noncommenters:

A rose is a rose is a rose.
~Gertrude Stein

I'd rather have roses on my table than diamonds around my neck.
~Emma Goldman

Everything's coming up roses - for me.
-Ethel Merman

and my fave

God gave us memory so that we may have roses in December.
~James M. Barrie

Ah - dear Ther - What I would not give to be in the company of the mean Queen. It would be so much better than being sequestered here by my guardian devil.

How are ya this morning - Ther?

I feel so good - even with the underlying depression that wants to sneak up on me - but my roses and Easter are keeping me going.

And of course - you - my dear Ther.

It's always about you - Really.

With me, its' "all about me", too.

Have a great day, Sue. Me and the Mrs. are off to theTheatre to see "Memphis"...

Thersites said...

In case you get curious

sue hanes said...

Ther - I'm nothing - if not curious. I will be googling this
'Memphis.'

I do hope ya have a good day. I no doubt will be spendin' the day in the kitchen - cookin vegan meals for myself - with a litte gardening - and some bloggin' in between.

I'm glad - Ther - that one of us gets out and about.

I'm an inside girl - ya see.

...me too, ma'am. Ages since i have been about town.

I googled Memphis - the Musical -
nicrap - and I've never heard of it nor have I have heard of anyone connected with it.

But from what I read - I'm quite sure that I would like this
one.

Meanwhile - I have been here in the kitchen - doing assorted things - and right now I am enjoying a strawberry smoothie. Not bad - but it has no sugar - just strawberries and some frozen non-dairy ice creamlike stuff.

Next I make - for my supper -
Orzo with sun-dried tomatoes and
mushrooms. Mmmmmm.

The guardian brought me - free of charge - a container of deliciouslooking tomato soup - which I apprecated - and I will have it for an appitizer.

Upon my request - he also bought me a book from Krogers - Neil
Pasricha's The Book of Awesome - I saw it the other day and thought it looked good.

And now - a bit of gardening - removing mean weeds around and about the rose bushes.

nicrap - The Guardian is full of
hubris.

Ever know anywon like that - nicrap.

makes me want to p*ke

sue hanes said...

Being full of h*br*s - my dear nicrap - is the very same as being f*ll *f Sh*it.

Or to put it another way -

You would have liked Memphis, stidh. Definitely a "feel good" liberal musical.

sue hanes said...

But Ther - If one is not a Liberal - then is it not a 'feel good' musical?

I don't quite understand whatcha are sayin'.

And besides - I had a GREAT day - but now I need a pick-me-up.

I don't mean a pick-up - just a pick-me-up.

I think that is kinda an old
fashion saying.

Furthermore - I was not a huge fan of Kincade.

Too much - if ya ask me.

Although I once put together one of his puzzle paintings. Say - Ther - do ya think I could have a puzzle made out of one of MY paintings?

sue hanes said...

Ther et al - HAVE A GREAT EASTER
tomorrow.

I'm gonna do the same.

:] + :o) = :)

Did you see Hairspray, stidh? Think of Hairspray set in Memphis... and you'll know exactly what I mean for a "feel good" play for liberals. Because in the play, all of the negroes are fun and talented, and all of their white friends want to be just like them.

Joe Conservative said...

Meanwhile, in Hairspray's Baltimore, the reality of race relations is kept off the front pages by the "feel gooders".

sue hanes said...

JC - I checked Memphis out and I made a note to listen to more of the videos on it. I'm QUITE SURE
that I would have liked This
VERY COOL MUSICAL.

Negro should be capitalized.

I didn't read the article that came up when clicking on 'reailty.'

The reason is - that I myself have been symbollically stripped and beaten by my guardian. I am not in shape to read about anyone else's reality. My reality is a bit too much for me - let alone someone else's. I am hanging on by a thread - robbed of every thing I have - about myself - that alwasy kept me going.

I am in the abyss - with seemingly
no way to crawl out. Even if a rope ladder were dropped down to me I'm not sure I would have the strength to reach out and climb up it.

I am not sure if I will survive this - having the rug pulled out from under me.

But I don't mean to seem needy.

Give it some time...

Good advice - Ther.

Tim im im is on myside
yes it is

tim im im is on myside...

But on the other side - when yer in the taxi - the meter is running'
whether it's moving or not.

I also have this plaque I bought once - says:

I hope my ship comes in before my dock rots.

See?

I'm older than most people - and
I do get impatient.

It's just the way I am.

But I'm in good shape.
