I'm not familiar with his music, but I'm glad you brought him to my attention.

Off topic: I'm commenting here because it is the blog that looks the most recent. I always feel bad that I can't reciprocate on your blogs.

Cube - Thanks for your comment.

Van Cliburn is a famous pianist who early won a piano competition in Russia - which catapulted him to fame.

He is the only musician who got a New York City ticker tape parade.

It's good to see you back in the blogosphere - Cube.

Thank you for the info. I'm glad to be back in the blogosphere.

BTW did you refer to me as Z in my post of 3/20/13? Just curious.

Cube - I'm sure I did mention you as Z. I've done that before but this time I didn't catch myself.

Sorry about that. Just a habit that's hard to break.

Your box blog is better than ever!!!

No worries. There are many things worse things in this world than being mentioned as Z. I have much respect for her.

Thank you for the kind words about my blog. I'm glad to have the stamina to work on it again. During my illness, I stayed away from all news and the computer... very atypical behavior for me.

Cube - I have much respect for Z too. As I do for you.

I hope you are completely recovered but something like that probably takes a long time.

Anyway - as I said - it is so good to have you back again. And it was probably good for you to take a break from stressful news and blogging.

Coming close to death will change some things about your life but some things are immutable. To me, blogging is like sending out a message in a bottle and actually getting a reply from the person who found it. That is the coolest part for me.

Cube - Blogging for me is the surprise of getting a comment when you aren't expecting it. Like when you comment on my blog.

I totally did not expect any comments on my now defunct blog - yet there it was.

And it sounds as if your illness was pretty serious. I'm sure it made you think twice about a lot of things.

I didn't know this blog was defunct. I commented here because it was the one with the newest post and I wanted to reciprocate all your comments on my blog.

As for my illness, I wasn't feeling well for a while before my hospitalization, but I rationalized it as a combination of menopause, muscle aches, not enough sleep, not eating right, etc.. I had no idea how serious it was until I went from my doctor's office, to the ER, to a hospital room and to the ICU in an afternoon.

I didn't feel that sick at all, but everyone around me was making a big fuss.

To this day I feel as though the recuperation from all the hospital procedures was worse than anything I felt before I went into the hospital.

Now all I have to do is cough a little and my family is quick to ask me if I'm OK. I know they mean well, but I'm ready to move on. Besides colds, I was never sick a day in my life and don't make a very patient patient.

Oh, I do go on. I'm sorry to burden you with my troubles, Sue. Thank you for listening.

I don't mind your telling me about your illness - Cube. In fact - I welcome it.

It is an example of how we can ignore feeling bad when there is really something wrong. I'm glad your family is paying such close attention to you.

As far as my blog goes - I've cut way back on writing. Maybe one of these days I will get going on it again.

I enjoy reading yours - and a couple of others.

Thanks for sticking with me - Cube.
